If I was a drinker, I could easily form a drinking game around all of the clunky clichés and stupid things characters do on BODY OF PROOF.  Take one drink for every time Detective Tommy Sullivan gets hurt.  Take another drink for every time the characters do something ethically questionable like putting evidence back where they found it or every time they disobey orders from a superior.  Dana Delaney’s character, medical examiner Megan Hunt, is in danger at least twice this season and her daughter is even in danger. The show is addictive in a bad way like a car crash you can’t take your eye off.  The best things about the show are spot the actors who have been in better shows and supposedly they get the forensic science right.   I have nothing against the fans of BODY OF PROOF, but I wish they had better writing for this show period.  Then they do go beyond their budget (and it shows) with the episode DARK CITY when a plane crashes. You have the romantic tension between Megan and Tommy as you wonder if they will ever hook up after having a fling years ago.  Also Megan is obsessed with the suicide of her father which she thinks might be murder (and the resolution for that plot ends on a clunker).

Seeing Mark Valley makes me want to go back and see the short lived cop show KEEN EDDIE and re-watch LOST for Henry Ian Cusick’s character Desmond (he plays sociopath psychologist Dr. Trent Marsh on BODY OF PROOF).  Also Jeri Ryan does a good acting job as the head medical examiner, Kate, but I will always see her as 7 of 9 on STAR TREK: VOYAGER and the Russian agent on DARK SKIES.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

GETTING THE SHOT- the cinematography and production design of BODY OF PROOF

VFX THE ULTIMATE MAKEOVER- how they use visual effects to make Los Angeles to look like Philadelphia.

ALL KINDS OF PROPS- a look at the various props on the show and the role of prop photography

CREATING THE WORLD- how production design and costume design help create the world of the show

BODY OF GOOFS- BLOOPER REEL- witness how funny the cast can be while on set

FINAL ANALYSIS:  BODY OF PROOF is enjoyable at times despite the cliché plots and the stupid things the characters do.  Fans of the show will enjoy this DVD set of the show’s last season.
