Everly (Salma Hayek) is a sex slave for the yakuza
when one
night she must defend herself in her apartment and make sure her daughter is
safe from the yakuza boss Takio. Yakuza
and prostitutes go out to kill Everly to make sure she doesn’t leave the
apartment building alive as the body count grows during the night as Everly
fights for her life. EVERLY is pure
exploitation and grindhouse B movie action as one impressive action scene is
followed by the text with a little dark humor thrown in against the cliché
Christmastime setting. Salma Hayek is a
force to be reckoned with in her performance as the title character as she does
thing out of a mother’s love for a child she was forced away from about four
years ago. Joe Lynch delivers another
grate picture like the previous one I have also enjoyed (KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM).
