TRUST is a difficult film to watch at times. You
see a 14 year old girl trying to deny what happened to her while her Dad (Clive Owen) is driven crazy by thinking
about it while her mom (Catherine Keener) wants to shut it out and appear to be the strong one.
Clive Owen is intense as the father whose life is torn apart after his daughter Annie is raped by a 35 year old man
who groomed her for an encounter over a few weeks by internet chatting, texting, and phone calls. Actor David
Schwimmer does a good job directing this film that handles a difficult topic of what is going on in the United States with
internet predators as they lure young girls.
TRUST doesn't let
anything off easy. It doesn't offer easy answers. It doesn't end like a Hollywood film. The
questions still hang as a family struggles to heal and deal with what had happened. TRUST is a disturbing film because
it shows what is happening to young teenage girls who have their trust betrayed and abused by older men who stalk them from
the internet. It never will end nicely. The only thing we can do is stay informed and use good judgement (and
teach our kids to have good judgement). It is a movie that parents and teenage kids should watch. This is the type
of film you can have discussions over on how much we should trust people on the internet and other topics related to this
film.

commentary or some featurettes on the film (and the subject matter).
FINAL
ANALYSIS: TRUST is a movie that will make you think. It is a difficult film that will stick with
you. Clive Owen gives one of the most intense performances in his career so far.
