ARMSTRONG is an insightful documentary on the life of Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong which covers things that FIRST MAN and APOLLO 11 don't cover. Harrison Ford narrates the words of Neil Armstrong in this dramatic and insightful portrait that offers more depth in the famous astronaut from his childhood in rural Ohio to fighting in Korea to his days at NASA to the celebrity status after Apollo 11 which he didn't want. The documentary is presented in 2.35:1 with archival footage being window boxed 1.33:1. Interviews with the people who worked with Neil and family (his sons and his ex-wife Janet) helps illustrate this portrait of Neil Armstrong.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
10 deleted scenes that features some extra moments that should have stayed in since it contains all interesting stories including Neil finding out about the people he was going to talk to (at special functions). There are also four additional scenes that includes the LLTV Crash scene that should have been in the documentary anyway. I do wish the 1.33:1 footage (in the deleted and additional scenes) which isn't window boxed within the 2.35:1 frame was the same approach used to present the movie on DVD and blu-ray.

Two Behind the Scenes featurettes are also on the DVD:
GEMINI 8 CAPSULE- a look at filming inside the actual Gemini 8 capsule at the Neil Armstrong Air and space Museum
FLIGHT OF FANCY- behind-the-scenes recording of the song (in Bozeman, Montana) in this song written by Mark Armstrong and performed by Mark and his daughter Kali
Theatrical trailer for ARMSTRONG

FINAL ANALYSIS: ARMSTRONG is a must-own for any fan of FIRST MAN and APOLLO 11 since it provides additional insight into Neil Armstrong's life.
