ATTRACTION is a decent Russian sci-fi movie with good special effects for the $6 million it was made for. It has shades of
THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL while taping into the fears humanity has when a UFO crashes in the middle of Moscow. The movie
revolves around a teenage girl named Yulia, her father Colonel Valentin Lebedev, Yulia's hotheaded boyfriend Artyom, and an
alien which Yulia befriends. The events in the film really start rolling when the Russian air force shoots down an alien
spaceship which crashes in Moscow. Parts of Moscow is evacuated as the Russian military carefully decide what to do while
a group of teenagers lead by Artyom decide to go into the evac zone to find alien technology. It leads to human fear of the
unknown as some of us can't handle we aren't the center of the universe and see the worst in the unknown. We don't trust ourselves
enough and we let hate and fear rule us too much at times. ATTRACTION is a decent sci-fi movie for fans of thinking sci-fi
and THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL instead of expecting a big budget action sci-fi like TRANSFORMERS.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
3 promotional featurettes:
THE YOUNG CAST, SUPERSTARS, PROMO REEL which are there to promote the movie and cast and how they loved working with the

FINAL ANALYSIS: ATTRACTION is a decent sci-fi movie that taps into the fears of humanity when first contact might happen.
The special effects are decent, but you are better off watching the movie with the original Russian track (and English subtitles)
since the English dubbed track is horrible.
