SYNOPSIS (from Amazon): Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan star in The Foreigner, a timely action thriller from the director of "Casino Royale" and "Goldeneye." Chan stars as humble London businessman Quan, whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love -- his teenage daughter -- is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat- and-mouse conflict with a British government official (Pierce Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.

ANALYSIS:
Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan deliver powerful understated performances in the kind of thriller you don't see that often with great direction from James Bond/ Zorro director Martin Campbell. The characters aren't black and white as Quan finds his life torn apart when his daughter is murdered in a terrorist attack while Liam Hennessy (Brosnan) sees this as a political opportunity, but Quan uses his Special Forces skills from his past to force someone's hands to find justice for his daughter. He plays a dangerous cat and mouse game as he wants answers and he won't go away until he does. It is solid movie that is at least worth a good rental night and I think people will discover this one over time if they haven't already seen it.

Short THE MAKING OF THE FOREIGNER promotional featurette

FINAL ANALYSIS: THE FOREIGNER is a solid classic thriller with understated performances from Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan in this masterfully directed film from Martin Campbell. I do wish the extras featured more behind-the-scenes stuff, but the interviews and the theatrical trailers are the best of the extras.
