Ryan Reynolds is a down-on-his luck bodyguard Michael Bryce who is asked by Interpol agent Amelia Roussel (Elodie Yung), his ex-girlfriend, to protect her witness (Darius Kincaid, a hitman played by Samuel L. Jackson) and get him to the Hague to testify against Belarus dictator Vladislav Dukhovich (Gary Oldman) who is on trial for war crimes against his own people by the International Criminal Court.

Kincaid and Bryce are a fabulous bickering odd couple as they evade bullets and death from Dukhovich’s goons who will do everything they can to prevent Kincaid from presenting his evidence against Dukhovich. THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD is a very entertaining action comedy brimming over with great action scenes and humor with the chemistry between Reynolds and Jackson holding the movie together as it also proves the things you will do for love and the things that will drive you crazy because of those who you love.

FINAL ANALYSIS: I really enjoyed the humor and action in THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD. Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson have good chemistry together while Gary Oldman manages to do a good scenery chewing bad guy. The deleted and extended and alternate scenes and outtakes are the best extras. You can skip the rest of the extras if you want.
