SHADOW is a Shakespearean tale of surprises and betrayal. The impressive action sequences are well directed and SHADOW is
up there with HERO and HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS. A military commander has a double which is his shadow. His shadow has been
taking the commander’s place in the last year as the commander's health is failing. A young and unpredictable king
wants to take back a city, but he may not have counted on what plans his commander has. His shadow has agreed to a duel with
the military commander of the city. It is a distraction as the commander and the king want to take back the city.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
Several short making-of featurettes focusing on the story, the director, cast, and action
Two theatrical trailers (international and US)
Previews for IP MAN 4, LEGEND OF THE DEMON CAT, BETTER DAYS, and FREAKS
FINAL ANALYSIS: SHADOW is another wuxia action classic from director Zhang Yimou. It combines action with Shakespearean
tragedy making it one of his best movies since HERO and THE HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS.
