It is 2008 London and high rain has lead to some streets being flooded. Detective Harley Stone (Rutger Hauer) is a maverick
cop who lives on anxiety, coffee, and chocolate. He is obsessed with finding his partner's killer with the killer leaving
a mark on Stone's arm. He is also feeling guilty of having an affair with his dead partner's wife Michelle (Kim Cattrall).
He is assigned a new partner named Durkin (Alastair Neil Duncan). Stone has a psychic link to the killer where he can sense
where the killer is going to be. The closer he gets to the killer, the closer the killer gets to threatening the one that
he loves- Michelle. He and Durkin will need bigger guns as they will go face to face to bring down this supernatural killer.
SPLIT SECOND is an enjoyable B movie creature feature I first saw in the movie theater. It is a dumb cult movie that
has some humor in it and a creature you don't get too much explanation about it (except how the killer was transformed) as
you watch Stone and Durkin hunt it. The production deisgn and weapons look great along with a great cast (except Kim Cattrall
who is just here to be the love interest). It is always enjoyable well shot fun that is very rewatchable for this longtime
fan of SPLIT SECOND. Buy it because it is the first time the movie had a proper DVD release and a US blu-ray release (from
a new 4K scan from 35mm internegative).

FINAL ANALYSIS: MVD has put together a fantastic special edition for SPLIT SECOND. If you're a fan of cult films like
this one or even late actor Rutger Hauer, SPLIT SECOND is a must buy. If you just happen to watch your movies on DVD and
don't watch the extras, MVD also has you covered with a DVD release of SPLIT SECOND, but the best way to watch it is on blu-ray.
