Maude Garrett (Chloe Grace Moretz) forges a set of orders to get her and a confidential cargo aboard the US warplane Fool's Errand during World War 2. During the course of the mission, things start to go from bad to worse as the reason is revealed why she's there and what is her cargo is as the flight crew and her having to do battle with a Gremlin and Japanese planes.

SHADOW IN THE CLOUD is an intense horror thriller that keeps revealing twists and never let's goes until before the end credits. It is a tight 70 minute movie before the end credits which includes archival footage of women pilots in the military during World War 2. When you think the movie is out of surprises, it hits you with something else. Chloe Grace Moretz is the glue that helps makes this movie work with the music score that reminds me of an old John Carpenter synth score and the tight direction. I highly recommend you rent it at Redbox or go rent/ buy the digital if you're not for physical media anymore.

Roseanne Liang has done a fantastic directing job and she did some rewrites on the original Max Landis script. Some people will want to skip because of the sexual allegations against Max Landis and the director is fine with that. If people want to skip a great movie, I say they should see it and separate it from the person who wrote the original draft since the director has brought a lot of her own voice to the story.

Sadly, there are no extras on disc not even including the trailer or any behind-the-scenes material. I would have loved to see some behind-the-scenes stuff or even an audio commentary on SHADOW IN THE CLOUD. Still it is a movie you should at least rent or buy. Don't let the shadow of Max Landis taint it because SHADOW IN THE CLOUD should stand on it's own as a great World War 2 B movie horror gem.
