MEMORY: THE ORIGINS OF ALIEN takes an interesting look at how ancient mythology and popular culture of the time helped create
the 1979 sci-fi horror masterpiece ALIEN. Interviews and movie clips help illustrate what influenced the writers, director
Ridley Scott, and other members of the creative team. It takes a dive into the personal history of writer Dan O'Bannon and
what led him to write ALIEN and get it made. You also learn how H.R. Giger's concept art was commissioned for the movie,
rejected by 20th Century Fox, and find a champion in director Ridley Scott. This is one of the best documentaries I have
ever seen on ALIEN that match up any of the excellent making-of documentaries produced by Charles de Lauzirika for the ALIEN
ANTHOLOGY set.
