CSI: MIAMI started out different in season 5 as they resolved the season 4 cliffhanger as Lt. Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) went to Rio De Janerio to hunt down the man responsible for the death of Marisol (Caine's wife and Delko's sister), Antonio Riaz. To me, CSI: MIAMI's storyline paralelled one in MIAMI VICE.

With various episodes, they continued to develop the main CSI characters and offered a variety of storylines. The season will start with revenge and end with one losing his job.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
Five featurettes are on this set-
RIO GRAND- CSI: MIAMI GOES TO RIO (Disc 1)- a look at the work they did before and during the two day shoot in Rio.
IF LOOKS COULD KILL: SPECIAL F/X MAKEUP (Disc 2)- what the SFX Makeup team do to make actors look like corpses and make the various inside the body shots seen on the series.
TURNING UP THE HEAT: THE LOOK OF CSI: MIAMI (Disc 4)- How they changed the colour scheme for seaosn 5 and acheive the look of the show (warm colours, set design, colour correction, etc).
DRESSING THE PART (Disc 5)- the costume department goes through what she does with each character's costumes and the various costumes for each actor in an episode. They changed the looks on a couple of characters for season 5.
THE REAL MDPD WITH JONATHAN TOGO (Disc 6)- a tour of areas of the MDPD CSI lab, a look at the tools for a field CSI, a look at teh SWAT team, and more.

Also five episode audio commentaries were recorded. Some of the actors are featured in the commentaries (unlike the current CSI Season 7 set)_

FINAL ANALYSIS: CSI: MIAMI Season 5 is as strong as other seasons and still I wish they had even more extras (though the featurettes are great and too short).
