Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is out fighting against the forces of evil with the Guardians of the Galaxy. He is letting his ego get the best of him while Gorr (Christian Bale) is killing the Gods with the Necrosword. Gorr blames the Gods for letting his daughter (played by Chris Hemworth's real life daughter) and people die. Meanwhile, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is fighting stage four cancer when the fragments of Thor's old hammer Mjolnir is calling out to Jane. Jane takes up the hammer and becomes the Mighty Thor. Thor comes to New Asgaard after he rescues Sif, but he is soon thrust into battle with old comrades as Gorr enacts a plan to get rid of all Gods.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER is a very enjoyable sequel. In some aspects, it is more comedic than THOR: RAGNAROK. Jane Foster has her best character arc while several characters and scenes were cut from the film. I do think the story of THOR: RAGNAROK is more solid while the comedy and some of the character arcs are better in THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER. Some characters don't get lots of time (where it seemed the Guardians of the Galaxy would have got more screen time if you believed the trailers). I do wish Gorr's arc was given more time to develop where also I wonder what character Lena Heady was playing in the early version of the movie (before her character was fully cut out). It is a nice change of pace to not having Loki as a main character in a THOR movie.
