PLOT:
At the end of the Second World War, Lt. Harris is assigned to transport a mysterious crate which results in him and his
crew getting lost in a sea of abandoned ships with so-called connections to the Philadelphia Experiment. After losing the
cargo, he and his crew are rescued and Major Savage has Lt. Harris put on military trial for disobeying orders and not playing
ball. Lt. Harris escapes and sets out to find out what Major Savage wanted to keep the subject of the mission secret which
leads to a bigger set of mysteries.
ANALYSIS:
SKY PIRATES comes off as a B movie rip-off of Indiana Jones even though RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK and SKY PIRATES wrre kinda
being developed independently of each other around the same time. The lead hero dresses like Charlton Heston in his action
movie prime. SKY PIRATES doesn't quite hold that same magic that RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK does. One example is an early scene
in the movie which explains in narration that they lost a couple of characters without showing that they lost them or how
they lost them. The Easter Island climax falls a little flat compared to RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK's climax. If you are looking
for a movie inspired by the same Republic Pictures cliffhanger serials that inspired RAIERS OF THE LOST ARK or wanted to own
this movie on blu-ray for a long time, SKY PIRATES will be a must own on blu-ray.

FIANL ANALYSIS: SKY PIRATES wants to be like Indiana Jones, but the budget and writing full of plot holes just does it
in. The extras are good and Umbrella has put together a good package for this movie with a different image on the slip from
the jacket art. If you love this movie or just want a so good it is bad Indiana Jones rip off off, SKY PIRATES is for you.
