DEATH MACHINE is a very unique sci-fi action horror movie I watched on VHS first back in the mid 1990s before Stephen Norrington
went on to direct the Wesley Snipes led BLADE. Norrington's last big budget movie was the flop known as the League of Extraordinary
Gentleman (LXG). DEATH MACHINE was popular on VHS and Cable TV in the 1990s, but the movie is back in print with this packed
two disc edition from KL Studio Classics. I did buy the German blu-ray years ago which featured the international cut, but
I do think Kino Lorber's release blows the German release away.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
In addition to three cuts of the movie: 100 minute US Cut, the 126 minutes international cut, and the 106 minute Director's
Cut, there are four audio commentaries, new on-camera interviews, two image galleries, and three trailers.
DISC TWO extras:
CONDUCTING CHAOS: Composer Crispin Merrell on the Sound of DEATH MACHINE
CUTTING EDGE ACTION: Editor Paul Endacott Talks about DEATH MACHINE
CYBERPUNK ON A BUDGET: Costume Designer Stephanie Cole on the Costumes of DEATH MACHINE
LOOKING DEATH IN THE EYE: Producer Ray Burdis Talks about DEATH MACHINE
MECHANICAL MAYHEM: Co-Producer Stuart St. Paul Remembers DEATH MACHINE
Vintage BTS promo from Japanese LaserDisc
Artwork and Design Still Gallery
Behind-The-Scenes Still Gallery
German Trailer
Japanese Trailer
FINAL ANALYSIS: DEATH MACHINE is a terrific release from Kino Lorber with all three cuts, Stephen Norrington on 3 out
of 4 audio commentaries, and new interviews. The only thing I wish was on the blu-ray was a new interview with the director
looking back on this movie and his career.
