MI-5/ SPOOKS season 5- Still one of the best shows made. It taps into the fears and threats that are all too real in the
post 9-11 world.
24- Season 5 was the one of the best seasons ever as the pace never let up and didn't drag itself down for a few episodes
like previous seasons. The genre guest stars keep showing up- Peter Weller (ROBOCOP, SCREAMERS), Julian Sands (WARLOCK), and
Geraint Wyn Davies (FOREVER KNIGHT). Also one hell of an ending.
DOCTOR WHO- Season 2 was more even with three great two parters and a little nostalgia from the classic old series.
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA- The show takes chances and causes much discussion. It is a serialized drama at it's finest.
THE NEWSROOM Season 3- Too bad it is the last season because Ken Finkleman likes to experiment. The last episode which
is partly animated is proof. Ken said on season was enough a long time ago (before he made season 2 and 3), but it remains
to be seen whether he will tap into THE NEWSROOM at some future date. never say never. The best dark comedy series ever.
PRISON BREAK- I discovered season 1 on DVD and it was a thrill ride. Season 2 might not be as good from what I've seen,
but I can't wait for the DVDs to catch the episodes I missed.
GHOST IN THE SHELL: STAND ALONE COMPLEX 2nd GIG- the best anime series of 2006 that asks questions and provides plenty
of action and drama. Too bad the second season is it's last as GHOST IN THE SHELL moves into direct to DVD movies.
HEROES- the best new show period as it approaches a comic book type TV show like the most well written superhero comic
books do.
SHOWS THAT ENDED TOO SOON-
THE NINE- It might be a one or two season pony, but it is an interesting drama on how people's lives get connected to each
other after a being hostages during a bank robbery.
INVASION- If they knew they were going to cancel it, ABC should have had a resolution written and shot.
DAYBREAK- The show has a unique concept, but it was cancelled before it could finish it's run. The other downside is it
interrupted LOST's run (due to the fact that LOST doesn't repeat well) and it also caused the cancellation of TEH NINE.
THE LONG ROAD TO NOWHERE AWARD goes to LOST as the show keeps getting dragged out more and more. The show seems to be going
nowhere with the first six episodes and it remains to be seen if the rest of the season in 2007 picks up the pace.
