If bad movies could be hazardous to your health, BOA VS. PYTHON is a clear contender. The movie is so bad sometimes that
the movie becomes an unintentional comedy. At other times, the movie becomes boring as one waits for the next stupid thing
to happen. BOA VS. PYTHON is a modern candidate for MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000. I looked for the MST3000's cast to pop up
their heads while the movie played. Yep, BOA VS. PYTHON is that bad of a B-movie.
BOA VS. PYTHON has bad acting, bad writing, and poor direction. You have the jackass TV news reporter, the big game hunters,
the FBI agents, the T&A scene, the beautiful female scientist who works with dolphins and does breathing contests at a
motel/hotel swimming pool, and two giant snakes (one is cybernetically enhanced by the beautiful female scientist). The movie
is one big misfire.
The woman named Eve (Angel Boris), who is naked in one scene, doesn't make it to the end of the movie. Too bad she didn't
survive because I liked her character, but she is spared from being in the rest of the movie as her rich bad guy boyfriend
goes crazy. Also I rather had the jerk TV reporter survive too. Every character that survives at the end of the movie are
the wrong ones to have survive because they are the least interesting cardboard characters of the bunch. I just wonder why
in almost every single movie like this one have the most interesting characters killed off and leave us with people we couldn't
care less about surviving the entire movie. I really do wish Crow, Servo, and their human friend were around to make fun of
this one on the SCI-FI Channel (ironically enough, this movie did premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel not too long ago).
VIDEO/AUDIO: The movie is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen. The picture is OK, but some of the lighting choices
have made the transfer look very soft at times.
Audio is presented in 5.1 English Dolby Digital and 5.1 Thai Dolby Digital (it must have been included because the movie
is even funnier hearing it in Thai). At most times dialogue can be heard, but sometimes other sounds on the audio track (like
in the wrestling match scene) can drown out the dialogue. There are eight different subtitle tracks to choose from: English,
French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Japanese.
EXTRAS: There are preview trailers for BOA VS. PYTHON, ANACONDAS: THE HUNT FOR THE BLOOD ORCHID, BOA, KAENA: THE PROPHECY,
RESIDENT EVIL 2: APOCALYSPSE, and STARSHIP TROOPERS 2. Also included is a free movie ticket to ANACONDAS: HUNT FOR THE BLOOD
ORCHID.
MENUS: Actually the menus are the best thing about the DVD as the menu options slither into place and when the light brightens
when you go to a sub-menu.
DVD SLEEVE ART: An ugly cover showing something doesn't happen in the movie.
FINAL ANALYSIS: Avoid BOA VS. PYTHON unless you like watching really bad B-movies with bad writing and lousy acting.
