LOST manages to explore it's mythology
each season in deeper ways and telling the viewer new things. The fifth season involves time travel, the Dharma
Initiative, a hydrogen bomb, and the Oceanic Six's journey to get back to the island (and what happens when they get there).
Season five uses time travel to explore the origins of the Others and the Dharma Initiative. It also makes you
wonder whether the survivors of the Oceanic flight are part of history or changing it. That last one will loom
big in the sixth and final season.
Season five is like discovering a book
or movie differently on a second time after I have seen it on TV first when the season aired. The characters and motives
are seen in a different light with a repeat view. Season five is definitely one of the strongest seasons
of the show. It is the type of season that rewards longtime fans and people who watched the whole season.
It refers to earlier things in the season as it builds to the finale. The roles of Jack, Sawyer, and Locke are
thrown upside down. Jack reacts while Locke acts. Sawyer takes up being a leader after the Oceanic Six leaves.
I will be thrilled to see what happens in season six and sad when LOST is over.

FINAL ANALYSIS: LOST season 5 is
one of the few shows that is very rewatchable. It is like reading a novel where you discover new things.
Rewatch the show and discover it in a new way if you've already seen it. Please check out the Mysteries Of The Universe
episode on The Dharma Initiative. The DVD set is worth it.
