Sarah Connor strives to protect her son John, the future leader of the war against the
Terminators. Season Two picks up with Sarah, John, Derek Reese, and Cameron continuing the search for the Turk
computer which becomes the bad AI computer called Skynet that causes Judgment Day in a few years. Their fight
to stop the future is complicated by further by Catherine Weaver, the cold head of a big corporation and isn't what she appears
to be), who wants to develop the turk into a computer named John Henry. She recruits Agent Ellison to work for
her. Ellison is plagued more by his religion and becomes more involved in his faith.
Then Derek has to deal with his girlfriend
from the future, Jesse, who is from an altered future timeline. John gets a girlfriend, Riley. Sarah has
issues with John's girlfriend. Also Cameron (the female cyborg sent back to protect John) has difficulties with
her programming after someone tried to blow her up at the end of season one.
Season Two kicks the storylines into
high gear as John becomes a man and we get several glimpses into the future that Sarah is trying to stop from the POV of Derek,
Jesse, and Cameron. The Terminators are developed as real characters even taking an episode to tell the story
of a Terminator who showed up in the 1920s. Too bad the show was cancelled with such an interesting cliffhanger.
I have heard plans are being discussed on how to continue the show (rumors point to direct to DVD movies like STARGATE SG-1
has done).
