PLOT SYNOPSIS:
FBI Agent Jennifer Marsh (Diane Lane) of the FBI Cyber Crimes Unit must track an untraceable killer who posts live videos of his victims on the internet. As she gets closer, the more personal it becomes as the killer targets her.

ANALYSIS:
UNTRACEABLE is an unremarkable thriller. It isn't good or bad. It is like a time waster you will son foregt. UNTRACEABLE keeps you watching only to be an underwhelming film that deserves a better climax that is more drawn out. Then I don't see the point of revealing the killer so early. I rather have it revealed to the audience through the eyes of the investigation. The writing robs UNTRACEABLE of suspense. It rather lead us instead of having the film suck us in.

UNTRACEABLE has a few great concepts that are done better elsewhere. The killer who kills his victims by web traffic to his web site (the more hits means the victim dies sooner). An episode of the TV series MILLENNIUM (The Milkado) did the same concept ten years ago to greater effect. The victims are killed in SAW violence fashion and efforts to take down the web site are unsuccessful. I rather have seen them find a way to take down the site and see how the killer reacts. Instead it is another missed chance for suspense. UNTRACEABLE is a lackluster film you should hold off until DVD rental or cable TV. It is like a better film was untraceable- lost somewhere between the first ideas and the final film. It just feels like the makers of this film set out to shock instead of delivering true suspense.
